In the late 1840s, Aivazovsky especially often addressed the image of night. The painting “Moonlit Night”, in all likelihood, is a view of the Black Sea off the Crimean coast in the Feodosia area. A virtuoso ability to convey the effects of moonlight playing on the clouds and lies with a pasty -written lunar path on the water, the artist erupted the delighted recognition of artistic criticism and numerous visitors of the exhibitions – at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, Feodosia, Odessa, Moscow.
