The area on the so -called bull forum in Rome is depicted (in ancient times they traded cattle here). Left – baroque fountain, on the right – a small round temple with columns of the Corinthian warrant, committed according to proportions.
The classic idealization of the image of antiquity is replaced by a realistic reflection of the antique and modern author of motives that coexist in dust and heat "eternal city". Evidence of former greatness does not cause the artist delight and surprise. He portrays them as the background of the everyday life of the Roman inhabitants.
