A sketch-option of a portrait located in Windsor Castle (UK). The portrait was ordered by Krueger for the gift of the English Queen Victoria. In 1847 he was delivered from Berlin to St. Petersburg and after approval by Nikolai I sent to London. The emperor is depicted in the vitzmund of the Life Guards of the Horse Regiment (golden dash sewing, blue collar and scurry). A copy of the portrait of Nicholas I in the uniform of the Life Guards of the Cavaliergard Regiment-in the Novgorod State United Museum-Reserve.
