Alexander Ivanovich Mikhailovsky-Danilevsky (1789–1848)-lieutenant general, senator, Russian military writer, historian. Member of the Patriotic War of 1812 and the foreign campaign of 1813-1815, Russian-Turkish 1828-1829 and Polish 1831. wars.
The author of the first official history of the Patriotic War of 1812, written in 4 volumes on the instructions of Nicholas I. Published in 1839. In the last years of his life, he was the editor -in -chief of the Military Gallery of the Winter Palace, in which several biographies were written by him.
